QuickBooks Online: Sweetheart New Features for February 2024
Love is in the air! February is filled with flowers, candy, and hugs, not just on Valentine’s Day, but all month long. Take a look at these sweetheart new features in QuickBooks Online for February 2024.
QuickBooks Time
If you have working in the field or remotely in a service capacity in a franchise, for example, you’re probably keeping track of their time manually or on the fly. If so, you’ll want to automate you processes by integrating QuickBooks Time with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Payroll.
Now it’s easier to set up QuickBooks Time with a new, integrated experience for tracking in QuickBooks Online Payroll. With the integration, you can:
Customize timesheet fields.
Enable time tracking via mobile app or on-site kiosks.
Invite team members to track time in the Workforce app.
Assign permissions to edit timesheets.
Set up tablet or computer-based kiosks for time tracking at a work location.

Separation of Duties in QuickBooks Online Advanced
Many of our clients work in large companies where custom roles and separation of duties in QuickBooks are mandatory. After all, for security reasons, just as you require two signatures on every check, you do not to give everyone the ability to do anything in your books.
QuickBooks Online Advanced now has the ability to provide drill-down access to financial data through more custom roles. Advanced always had custom roles, but it is now enhanced.
Custom roles now include these three options:
Control access to more types of transactions, such as invoices, estimates, bills, expenses, purchase orders, and checks.
More control of what team members can do with transactions, including view-only, create, edit, and delete.
More specific access to task areas such as bank feeds, reconciliation, registers, chart of accounts, journal entries, and online bill pay.
In addition, you or Certum Solutions can control who can view, create, edit, or delete transactions, as well as access accounting features such as reconciliation, registers, and chart of accounts.
Say Goodbye to Cash flow Projections
We know that knowing your cash flow is an important part of running your business. However, cash flow projections are no longer be available in QuickBooks Online.

Direct Deposits in QuickBooks Online Payroll
We all know that bank feeds are a powerful component of QuickBooks – the ability to automatically have your banking transactions flow into QuickBooks for easy matching and reconciliation.
Something similar is happening QuickBooks Online Payroll, where matching direct-deposited payroll transactions will happen automatically.
In essence, each paycheck paid by direct deposit will be auto matched to a bank debit in Bank transactions. The result? You won’t have to match payroll transactions to paychecks. All you’ll need to do is review the proposed categorization.
