Learn more about the top three recent QuickBooks Online feature improvements that can boost your business.
1. Get Deeper Insights With the Custom Report Builder in QBO Advanced
We’re extra excited about this first feature update. There’s so much good data in QuickBooks, and reports are the most easily digestible way to get valuable insights.
With this new feature, QuickBooks Online Advanced lets you break out of the box with the custom report builder. Cross-tabulate data based on the filters that matter to you, not based on what’s included in a generic template.
Select only the fields you want to see to access the metrics that are most important to your business. Group, sort and filter to control what’s in your report. Summarize data with totals, averages and percentages to show powerful results (check out the image below to see an example). Choose the timeframe you need to see. View and save your reports to run them again in the future, or export them to share or keep on file.
All the data in QBO Advanced is on the table — which is great! It gives you flexibility and total control over the data. It also means that there’s a lot of fields to sort through. If you get overwhelmed, our Certum team is happy to set up customized reports that show the exact data you want to see.
2. Customize by Employee With Expanded Auto Payroll in QBO Payroll
Who doesn’t love simplifying payroll by automatically depositing wages with Auto Payroll? It’s great … until that one employee routinely forgets to turn in his or her timesheets, or when that other worker keeps leaving the clock running after his or her shifts.
The latest update for all tiers of QuickBooks Online Payroll solves those employee-specific issues. Auto Payroll used to be an all-or-nothing option: either every worker was enrolled or no one was. Now, you can hand-select which employees are — or aren’t — enrolled in Auto Payroll. Take a look at the screenshot below to see what it looks like to enable Auto Payroll for select employees.
3. Save Time With Recurring Tasks in QBO Advanced
The QuickBooks Online Advanced Task Manager is a favorite feature of ours for integrating to-do lists and QuickBooks approval processes in a single tool. Whether you need to call a client about billing or approve an invoice, Tasks can keep you and your team organized.
The latest feature update makes Tasks even more practical with the option to create recurring reminders. Whether you want to remind yourself to review timesheets biweekly, contact a client monthly or file business taxes quarterly, the toggle for a recurring task lets you set repeating tasks without manually adding each instance.
The Tasks feature update saves you time with automation and keeps those to-dos from falling through the cracks. Check out the available options for recurring tasks in the screenshot below.
