QuickBooks Enterprise Contractor Edition Profile

QuickBooks Enterprise Contractor Edition comes in various “flavors” or industries. Contractor, General, Retail, Pro

For the Construction Industry, the Contractor is the way to go. You have a great contractor menu that pops up for your more frequent tasks, you can complete Change Orders (the only edition that has this function). In the snapshot below, you can update Item Percent Complete for Job Cost reports, Create Estimates and Change Orders, Receive Payments and the like. 9/10 of the features you use day to day – right in a super easy menu!

Additionally, with Contractor Edition you get a bundle of specific to the industry reports, right out of the box!

Please note, to be able to run your Job Cost reports accurately, as above, it is imperative that your items are set up for Phase Accounting, and you have transactions classed at the Item level, not the Account level.

Combine this with the robust functionality of QuickBooks Enterprise in general, and your construction business is set up for success. Have a tricky question? Challenge accepted. Set up a demo with Katie here.

Note: I started out my career in the Hub of Turner Construction Company, processing journal entries, job cost entries and working many, many late nights to close out the books with my coworkers. I know and love Construction, and am excited to help your construction company move to a great program.
