QuickBooks Enterprise Express Pick and Pack

QuickBooks Enterprise Express Pick and Pack was enhanced in QuickBooks Enterprise Version 2020. While only available in the Platinum (Advanced Inventory) Edition, it is meant to save you time when building out roles, and when switching roles, for picker ad packers, as well as associated actions and approval processes.

This streamlines the order fulfillment process for users, which is critical in the manufacturing and distribution environments. The faster orders can get out the door the more efficient and profitable the organization. The Express Pick Pack flow is meant for warehouses where you are completing the picking and packing as a single flow, rather than two separate tasks. It merges them into their own tab in the Sales Order Fulfillment worksheet.

To access this flow read on.

This is the first time I’ve used this particular sample file in 20, so I get the following message.

If you get this message, and are not quite sure how the visual flow goes, you can access my prior post on Turning on Advanced Inventory below:

Next, you will want to set up your warehouse workers. Since this is a sample company, I don’t have the user add access (and my inventory scanner is at a colleague’s office right now, so I’ll update this at a later date), but you can add users using the guide from my other post here.

Once the above steps are complete, go to your Sales Order Fulfillment worksheet under Customers.

You should have the Express Pick Pack tab showing now.

I put in a few basic test sales orders in. They are saying they aren’t fulfillable because I did not list a quantity on hand, but we are going to push through (because it’s a Wednesday, and I have a pile of stuff to do that keeps growing).

You will want to mark for Express Pick-Pack.

You can also batch mark these for Express Pick Pack.

We then assign the Warehouse user who will be completing this task. Guess what?! Andy the Warehouse Guy is back!

We don’t have a device attached, so we will need to manually update from the system.

The Express Pick Pack Tab now shows the current status, and you can update as needed.
