Earth Day 2023 Grant Agreement

Certum Solutions, an award-winning Elite QuickBooks Solution Provider and business technology firm based in Monroe, North Carolina, is offering one potential winner a $5,000 unrestricted grant in support of forward-thinking and environmentally sustainable practices in honor of Earth Day 2023. The eligibility requirements to apply for the grant, the associated entry methods, and the selection process are outlined in this agreement (“Agreement”). By submitting an application, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

Environmental Sustainability means preventing waste, increasing recycling, or supporting other programs that work to improve the environment locally and globally. Submit a 500-word essay explaining how the organization practices ongoing environmentally sustainable and socially responsible environmental goals. Alternatively, explain how the organization has changed its business practices to be sustainable. Include why being environmentally sustainable is important to the organization and include an explanation for how the organization will utilize the funds to continue an environmentally sustainable mission.

To be eligible, you must:

Ï Submit an application on behalf of an organization.

Ï Submit a 500 word original essay that meets the essay requirements above.

Ï Be in an environmentally friendly industry with no past, active or pending environmental legal actions filed against them.

Ï Provide 2021 and 2022 financials indicating the organization’s revenue was less than $2.5M per year;

Ï Be based in and have majority (51% or more) of revenue derived from the United States and/or its territories.

Ï Submit the organization’s W-9.

Ï Be 18 years old or older and a representative of the company to apply.

Ï Not be an employee of Certum Solutions, or a member of an employee’s family.

Ï Submit an original essay that must not contain any of the following: illegal, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate content; previously published content or content otherwise made public elsewhere; contain personally identifiable information (except for the entrant's personally identifiable information) or other sensitive/confidential content; and any other reason of Certum Solutions. If the essay or application contains any of the foregoing, the application shall be ineligible.

Entry:

· Certum Solutions will begin accepting applications on April 18 at 8 am est.

· Applications must be submitted to Certum Solutions via the application on line at www.certumsolutions.com/earth-day-grant

· Certum Solutions is not responsible for applications submitted to it but not received and/or accepted. Such entries are void.

· No entry fee or application fee is required.

· By submitting an application, you agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Certum Solutions from and against any third-party claims brought against Certum Solutions that arise from your intentional, willful, or negligent conduct, or material breach of any of this Agreement’s terms or the terms governing the application.

· By submitting an application, you agree that North Carolina law governs this Agreement, without regard to conflict of law principles, and any disputes arising under or related to this Agreement shall be adjudicated in Union County, North Carolina.

Selection Process:

· Applications will be reviewed by Samuel Johnson, Rebecca Studard, Amye King, Niki Marineau, and Jake Capps, each of whom is competent in environmentally sustainable practices.

Ï Each application will be assessed against criteria developed by Certum Solutions. The criteria will be set forth on a 5-point rubric. Points will be assigned for (1) application completion and satisfaction of application requirements (like meeting the revenue parameters), (2) originality related to the organization’s environmentally sustainable and socially responsible environmental goals and business practices, (3) creativity related to the organization’s environmentally sustainable and socially responsible environmental goals and business practices, (4) the predicted impact the organization will have on environmental sustainability related to its use of the funds, and (5) creativity and originality related to why being environmentally sustainable is important to the organization.

Ï Certum Solutions shall choose one potential winner by 5/15/23 . Organizations will be notified of Certum Solutions’ decision via e-mail by 5/15/23. All decisions are final.

Ï The potential winner shall receive a $5,000 grant check and a complimentary press release to the medial of the potential winner’s choice. The potential winner shall receive the grant check between four and six weeks from May 15, 2023. Certum Solutions will mail the check directly to the potential winner’s address listed in the organization’s profile.

Ï Upon receipt of the grant, the potential winner should post its award on LinkedIn and tag Certum Solutions’ LinkedIn business page as formal recognition.

Ï All grants are eligible for audit.

Ï The potential winner agrees to complete any paperwork required by Certum Solutions. Failure to complete any paperwork requested by Certum Solutions renders the potential winner ineligible.

· All grant applications are subject to review of the applying organization’s reputation and activities, and its agreement to comply with applicable terms and conditions.

· Submission of an application does not guarantee an award or funding.

· Funding exclusions include: organizations that deny service, membership or other involvement on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, veteran, or disability status.
