February’s Updates are a Real Sweet Deal in QuickBooks Online

Celebrating Valentine’s Day often brings to mind sweeping, dramatic love scenes. Think: John Cusack’s boombox serenade. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan’s rendezvous atop the Empire State Building. Anna’s self-sacrifice for Elsa on the frozen fjord. In real life, we know that love is often found not in grand gestures, but in the little things.

This February, the team at QuickBooks Online is showing its love through small updates that mean a lot. More customization in QuickBooks Online Advanced and two changes affecting QuickBooks Payroll reduce friction for users.

Consistent Account Roll-Ups in Custom Reporting

For QuickBooks Online Advanced users, custom reports are getting easier to review. Report data that’s sorted by column will include the hierarchies that reflect the company’s accounting structure. That means your hierarchies around accounts, customers and products will be preserved in the Custom Reports Builder. You’ll love having reports that are more consistent with the rest of your QuickBooks setup.

The Custom Reports Builder is a must-have feature for growing businesses that need more insight and data for efficient operations. If you’re interested in learning about next-level reporting for your business or getting help to set up your custom reports, just swipe right — um, I mean, schedule a call.

Bank Data Comes with You to QuickBooks Online

Before bank account is connected…

After bank account is connected.

If you’re migrating from QuickBooks Desktop® with QuickBooks Payroll to QuickBooks Online, the process just got easier. Say goodbye to the manual work of re-adding a bank connection and direct deposit limits. Instead of a possible interruption to your payroll cycle for employees, there’s a seamless transition of your banking and direct deposit data. That’s a migration that every lovebird can enjoy.

Your ‘Non-Sufficient Funds’ Message Won’t Hold Clients Back

This update is dedicated to the accountants listening out there. If you’re using a wholesale account for QuickBooks Online Payroll and there’s a non-sufficient funds (NSF) hold on your account, it only impacts you. Your clients won’t be affected anymore; they’ll be able to run payroll, pay taxes, and carry on with business as usual. (If your client’s account has a NSF hold, they’ll need to resolve the issue before they can run payroll.)

QuickBooks Shows its Long-Term Commitment with Little Acts of Love

Any one of these updates might look small on its own. But each one reflects a frustration that bookkeepers, accountants and business owners experienced — and the QuickBooks team demonstrated that it's in this relationship for the long haul by working on a fix. With that kind of commitment, QuickBooks can Follow Me Home anytime!
