Fall Into Some Great New QuickBooks Online Features
The leaves are changing, there are cool evening breezes and the kids are getting ready for Halloween. What else is going on? Oh yes: Some great new features in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QBO Advanced. Here’s a summary of what’s new.
Balance Sheet Budgeting Made Simple
Who wants to do manual entry? That went the way of puffy shirts and bad ’90 hairstyles! Now available in QBO and QBO Advanced, you can now create balance sheet budgets for asset, liability and equity accounts right in the software.
How does this work? A status bar helps ensure your budget entries are balanced, and in QBO Advanced, you can use custom roles to assign more granular access to create these budgets.
To find this new feature, select the gear icon to open your preferences and choose Budgeting. In Advanced, you can also access it through Budgets on the left side of the screen.
New Workflow Run History
Here’s a feature that really helps your business. In the past, something difficult to overcome was to see how your workflows progressed. In other words, if a workflow had issues completing, it was hard to identify what was causing the problem and how to fix it.
Now, with the new “workflow run history,” you can see a complete history of each workflow you created and ran:
· You can use a run history of any workflow to easily track its progress and identify issues in real time.
· This includes a detailed history, including when it ran, when it completed, who was involved, where it currently sits in the process, and the owner.
In addition, your QBO admin will be able to see how long a workflow is taking to complete. If this feature is difficult to understand or you’re having issues figuring it out, by all means contact us.
Automatic setting for local tax deposit frequency
Local tax can also be difficult to understand, especially if you have nexus. So, if you are setting up taxes in QBO, it’s very easy to misclassify local tax deposits. And if you set them up incorrectly, you could miss a crucial payment and even important tax notices.
Now, the tax deposit frequency to all your local collectors will now default to your most recent deposit frequency, and you can easily update this later if needed.
